Re: how do I get to torridon?

Hi Lilo

I got the sleeper from Preston to Inverness (seated not a berth) then got the train to Strathcarron and the bus (which is a minibus) to Shieldaig. I then had a very enjoyable walk to Torridon and managed to fit in two pubs before reaching the Youth Hostel!

The reason I got off the bus at Shieldaig was that it terminated there in the early afternoon and went all the way to Torridon in the late afternoon. I decided it was better to take advantage of the earlier bus rather than risk a problem with the later one.

In 2011, I had the most beautiful weather of my whole crossing on the walk between Shieldaig and Torridon. It really was a nice start to my holiday.

Edit - Seeing my photo (left) reminded me that I left my Tilley Hat on the bus in Shieldaig but, fortunately, noticed while the driver was still in the pub! (I don't think he was drinking).

I haven't sent in the application yet Pete,
and the drawers not until Nov.

Unless you know something

But should I be in, then I don't know, cos it's Lord Elpus's choice.

Re: how do I get to torridon?

Hi Pete,

Hopefully if I get in, I'll be going from Torridon.
