Re: TGOC 2012 Report - Lochailort to St Cyrus

Good work Lynsey! I enjoyed reading that, lovely photos too.
A nice sociable route, you certainly made the best of the conditions by bagging hills whenever you could.
Next year maybe for that grand high level route?
Might see you there on a remote and lonely hill somewhere, or more likely in a more sociable Challenge hotspot!

Re: TGOC 2012 Report - Lochailort to St Cyrus

I enjoyed reading that, Lyndsey.

I'm still puzzling, though, about how you managed to get all the way across when you have so many shortish days.

Then again, I had a day stuck in Oban bothy and a day off in London to make up for, which I guess must make a difference ...

Re: TGOC 2012 Report - Lochailort to St Cyrus

Jeremy

The route is still long (my quick calculation suggests just shy of 300km - I still need to upload the routes to calculate the exact distance). I think the difference is no rest days (either enforced like your stay in Oban bothy or otherwise!) and 3 long days of 30km or longer. Also going over the hills sometimes makes the routes shorter in distance if not time!
