I was up in the Highlands over the weekend (two Munros of the Ben Lawyers ridge, and the five of the Lochnagar - Broad Cairn circuit, all with cloud bases at 900 metres and stiff breezes to make it interesting) and this gave me cause to drive along Glen Lyon ... billed as "the longest, the loneliest and the loveliest Glen in Scotland".
It looked lovely alright ... but the road was closely fenced on both sides and it was far from clear that there would be any way to walk it other than to trudge that road the whole way.
Has anybody successfully incorporated Glen Lyon, or any part of it, into a Challenge route? And if so, where did you go?
