Hein's TGOC 2012 Pictures - From Glenelg to The Deil's Heid

And here are my photos to give a good impression of my 2012 Challenge:

Not many people on these pictures, because I did not meet any other challenger at all after the 4th day! But for me it was a splendid challenge again.

What a fantastic walk.
And so many tops in some grim weather too.
It looks like a wonderful finish on the Cateran Trail.

Hein - this is a truly spectacular picture set - and some of your compositions are simply awesome!

The route, too - you sem to cram about twice as much into your crossings as I ever do. Fancy heading south from Pitlochry to Ballinluig ... who'd ever have thought to do that? (I've thought about coming up from further south into Ballinluig ... but never from Pitlochry!)

My route vetter (Colin Crawford) asked me if I wouldn't mind deviating a little from my route to report on what the buildings at Saunich are; however, as I lost 36 hours stuck in Obbothy, I had to abandon that part of my route in favour of the road to Kinloch Rannoch, in an effort to make up lost time. I have, however, told him about your photos here, and I'm sure he'll be very glad that you took some pictures for him!

Congratulations Hein on a wonderful crossing 2012! Your photos ARE truly spectacular - I really enjoyed them. Maybe see you next year?

You're not alone in having that thought, Andrew!

But then again ... I HAD the tops on my route card this year (17 Munros and 2 Corbetts, to be precise). It's just, circumstances conspired to stop me from doing them ...
