My TGO 2012: Lochailort to Montrose

I was going to go to the gym but I had a bit of exercise over the last couple of weeks.

Then I thought, no, I'll do my write up.

It's here at http://aktovate1.blogspot.co.uk or, you can Google in Gordon's off.

Apoglogies for the typos.

Out of three, I enjoyed this the most.

Re: My TGO 2012: Lochailort to Montrose

Blimey, the whole lot.
I have only just finished the journey up bit, let alone the real thing.

I shall read and digest later and post on the blog when all done.

Now, where was I .

Oh yes, Day 1

Re: My TGO 2012: Lochailort to Montrose

Enjoyed reading that.

Re: My TGO 2012: Lochailort to Montrose

thanks gordon, glad you got thru in good stile. However i have to assure you Frederic was his own master, it was his willpower that got him there. i would be on the otherside of the burns in the Monadhliath now were it not for him!. bye the bye has anyone else ever camped at the Park Hotel?it appears very swish.it may even change my mind about next year.

Cheers,Mark

Re: My TGO 2012: Lochailort to Montrose

Thanks, all, for the comments.

Oban bothy was a great place to spend the first night, Mark.

The photo's that Jeremy Burrows posted on his blog - and his experience at Oban just a day later - just goes to show how fortunate we all were to make progress from there.

Oh no it wasn't ....

Re: My TGO 2012: Lochailort to Montrose

You sure had a different time there Jeremy.

Re: My TGO 2012: Lochailort to Montrose

I did indeed! Although, reading the accounts of other people who actually WALKED on Stormy Sunday, I'm thinking that the weather may actually have done me a favour after all. I mean, there are worse things that can befall than having to sit in a bothy all day ... and at least MY bothy didn't let the water come in through the walls

Anyway, really enjoyed your account ...
