A SIZZLER TOO LATE

A copy of the "The Scottish Sun" newspaper, dated 24th May lying on a seat of the train that i caught on thursday a.m. showed a front page headline " 27.3 oC SIZZLER IS 3 YR. HIGH. !.The article shows a picture of Aviemore last week , white with snow !!. I can vouch for the truth of it, i was there listening to the snow sliding off the trees all night, also onto the tents of other challengers camping there. It now seems like a wild dream. More especially when thursday morning dawned over a foggy Montrose campsite ( more properly a sea fret) , the one weather system missing due to high winds thru the 2wks. previous.

Re: A SIZZLER TOO LATE

The low lying sea mist, so prevalent on the east coast, is called a harr,a word of Old Norse origin.

Re: A SIZZLER TOO LATE

Hey JD; don't you think that you are getting a bit pedantic in your dotage? Harr, harr, harr!

Re: A SIZZLER TOO LATE

Are you still en France avec the fragrant Madame Grumpy? Now the rain and snow has gone it's safe to come home.

Re: A SIZZLER TOO LATE

Wee, wee monsewer! Now the coast is clear we start for home & civilisation tomorrow. Sorry to leave the land of vin & pate but we can only take so much sunshine, good (non-dehydrated) food and cheap wine. withdrawal symptoms were not too bad this year as we could watch the weather reports!
See you in October? By which time we should just about be looking toward our first routes; don't the year flash past?

Re: A SIZZLER TOO LATE

Thanks for your input gentlemen, i,m just back as 1/3 of a working party feeling fairly knackered and now even less of a mind to risk life and limb again next May. A biennial until the weather makes it's mind up might be the thing !. Harl have to think about it with care.
