23 May 2011 - Apperley Bridge Canter / Ilkley Trail
On Thursday evening there was a good entry from Airecentre Pacers in the Apperley Bridge Canter. Graham Lake (81st) was the first Pacer home over the 10k course in 43.38, followed by the rapidly improving Chris Garnett (131st) in 46.51. Jenny Beaumont (179th) was the first Pacer lady home in 49.12. Amanda Hall (305th) in 56.04 and Rachael McIntyre (369th) in 60.55 also took part in the race.
On Saturday several Pacers took part in the Meanwood Valley Trail the last of the Airedale Triple Trail Series. Chairman Paul Grindley continued his recent good form over the seven and a half mile cross country course on the outskirts of Leeds coming 31st in 52.11. Karen Potter had a good run to finish in 73rd position in a time of 58.01. Jenny Beaumont, despite having run a competitive race only two days previously, came 99th in a time of 61.04 and achieved second place overall in the Airedale Triple Trail Series in the Ladies open category. Tony Pfeiffer, who had also completed all three in the Airedale Triple Trail Series, came 117th in 62.52 followed by Richard Archer (128th) in 64.26 and Ruth Murray (185th) in 72.35.
On Monday Jenny Beaumont completed the Ilkley Trail Race over a 6.9 mile undulating course in 58.30, her third race in five days. Rob Grafton from the Pacers also took part.
