On Wednesday 18 May the third of the John Carr series was completed. Paul Grindley in an overall time of 56.55 came 10th overall in the male veterans over 45. Richard Clarke with a slower time in the third race in anticipation of his marathon at the weekend still had an overall time of 62.48 and came 7th in the male veterans over 50 and Chris Garnett with an overall time of 65.47 came 11th in the open category.

Richard Clarke took part in the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday in sunny, but windy conditions. He had a very satisfactory time of 3.21.20, coming 44th in the over fifty category and 766th overall in a field of about 10000.
