Angela Crawford from Airecentre Pacers had a very good result on 9 April coming third overall in the Wensleydale Wander endurance course race at Leyburn organised by the Rotary Club of Wensleydale over 12 miles in 1.49. She was the first lady home and broke the ladies’ course record.
On Easter Sunday Airecentre Pacers had its usual high number of entrants in the Guiseley Gallop. In dry conditions Will Morris followed up his fine performances in the Peco cross country races over the winter by coming 28th in a time of 40.52. Paul Grindley was 88th on 45.30 followed closely by Richard Clarke (107th) on 46.43. Tony Pfeiffer (193rd) 51.40 just beat the Pacers’ first lady Jenny Beaumont (209th) 52.21. Next came Andrew Smith (252nd) 54.30 and Chris Hill (286th) 55.50 returning after a long layoff due to injury. Fekaterina Petrova (312th) in her first race for the Pacers and Lynne Morris (313rd), the winner for the second year running of the ladies over 60s, came in together on 57.26. Amanda Hall (344th) 59.14, Jackie Glass (352nd) 59.36, Linda Braham (446th) 68.21, and Belinda O’Hara (464th) and Candy Gable(465th) both 71.04 completed the Pacers’ entrants for this year.
