On Saturday 12th March a group from Airecentre Pacers travelled up the Dales to take part in the annual Dent Run over a demanding course of 14 miles 379 yards in near perfect conditions. Out of a field of almost 400 runners Paul Grindley had an excellent race and came in first for the Pacers in 1.43.26 (87th position). Jason Nicholson was next in 1.54.58 (149th) followed by Richard Archer in 1.57.29 (174th), who just beat by 20 seconds Tony Pfeiffer(180th), who had a recurrence of a calf injury. Angela Crawford was the first lady Pacer home in 2.00.41 (208th) followed by Rhona Neilson in 2.08.21 (255th). Amanda Hall taking part in her first race of 2011 did very well to complete this hilly run in 2.18.58 (320th).
John Tate continued his recent good form in the recent Trollers Trot ending well up the field in 68th position with a time of 4.11.09 over the 25 mile course.
The final results have now been published for the Peco cross country series. The Airecentre Pacers’ men’s and ladies’ teams came fourth in the respective first divisions of the competition and the men came 8th out of 17 in their veteran’s division and the ladies 6th out of 17th in their veteran’s division. Will Morris was the Pacers’ best male competitor ending up 12th overall in the men’s competition and Jenny Beaumont was their best female competitor ending up 22nd overall in the ladies’ competition. Lynne Morris retained first place in the over 60s ladies.
