There was a good turnout from Airecentre Pacers for the third of the 2010/11 PECO cross country races which was organised by Kirkstall Harriers on Sunday and took place in drizzly conditions through the woods at Bramley Falls.
Will Morris achieved a personal best and led the men’s team in with a very commendable 17th position. Paul Grindley, (74th) Richard Clarke (83rd) and Rob Grafton (108th) were the next three Pacers home. John Tate (110th) and Andy Ackroyd (111th) followed closely behind. There was a close struggle between Tony Pfeiffer and Chris Garnett, who came in respectively 129th and 130th respectively. Richard Archer (138th), Chris Hill (154th), Tony Rivers (172nd) and Duncan Kilby (174th) completed the men’s team.
Jenny Beaumont fought courageously to come first in the Pacers’ women’s team after a bad fall early on the first lap and came 44th. Jackie Ackroyd followed closely behind in 49th position with the reliable Lynne Morris in 54th place. Rhona Neilson (86th) narrowly beat Sue Milnes (87th) with Linda Braham completing the team in 117th position.
