The following social events will be happening in August.

Sunday 14th August – drinks and a pub quiz at the Wheately. The quiz costs £1 and you get a free supper after that. I would suggest that those travelling from the Guiseley area get the 19.23 train. There trains back are hourly. I know some people have said that they will be attending. There is no need to pre-book this.

Sunday 21st August – Richard Archer and his wife have invited people to their house for some nibbles after the Sunday morning run. The run will leave the club at the usual time (9.30am). It is proposed that we do a 10 mile route towards the White House and then over the to Cow and Calf. If people want a shorter route they can opt for the direct route to the Cow and Calf (this can be negotiated on the day). The invite is extended to other family members who may want to join us at Richard’s house at approximately 11.30 (assuming no disasters on route). Richard has said that he and his wife will provide the food and liquid refreshments, but they have asked if people can confirm their attendance and if for any reason have to drop out let him know a couple of days in advance. If you intend on accepting this generous offer, please can you let me know ASAP in order that I can tell Richard and give out his address details. There is an hourly train service from Ben Rhydding back to Guiseley

Sunday 28th August – This is the Sunday of the bank holiday weekend. On previous bank holiday we have varied to the Sunday morning run to include breakfast at the end and the feedback has been that these were much enjoyed. I propose that we meet at the Sainsbury’s car park in Otley at 8am with a view to car pooling to the start of the route of the Washburn Valley (10 mile circular). We will then head to the Bowling Green for breakfast (but no calorie counting this time please). As is always the case partners or children are welcome to join us for breakfast at approximately 10.15-10.30. Last time we turned up at the Bowling Green on mass they did say that it would be helpful if we came again to give them advance warning of numbers, so if you do think you will be partaking in this please can you let me know.
