18458

18458 served honorably with the Georgia Guard (we only had one or two school-trained crews -- the rest were local transition). The unit had supported an Air Guard mission in Norway, so when the Crane era ended, we arranged to "donate" 458 to the Air Guard at Hunter Army Air Field. So there it sits, in the Air Guard's front yard. They really don't want it. Several of us are trying to figure out what do to with it while maintaining integrity of title.

Any ideas, please let me know.

Welcome home,

Neill McDonald, Savannah

PS Over about sixteen years of Crane operation, we were blessed to have never had anything more than, I believe, a punctured hull. We knew the Cranes would forgive us (as in, "A very forgiving aircraft") if we didn't abuse them, so we didn't and they did.
