may i know what programme should i use to view the chinese words? i can read the title but not the story and i'm using vista to read

Just use word pad is OK.

I tried Wordpad and still can't read any of the books. When clicking on the link, the whole text showed up as junks.

try decoding as BIG5 in your browsor. you can find it under 'character encoding' in 'view' under menu in firefox. other browsers have similar options
after that, you can usually copy & paste to other programs
