There has been an increase in burglaries in the Ashton area . The puzzling facts in some cases are that, although victims are convinced that they locked their doors, there were no signs of a break-in. Someone still managed to gain access and steal possessions.This obviously presents problems when submitting insurance claims which makes the losses even more upsetting.Police think that you may have forgotten to lock up. However you should be aware of a gadget called a jump key which is a burglars means of gaining access to your property even though it is locked. To save further explanation check out the You Tube demonstration of a jump key.You will be surprised at how easy it is to enter your property and you will realise that you are not as secure as you thought. I don't wish to cause alarm but forewarned is forearmed.

Thanks for the post. I have had a look on youtube and alot of them are from America. Seems like it's big there too. Bit suspicious this. Is it not just a rumour that's gone viral?

Had an attempted theft on Walford Road in the early hours of Friday morning, came over St.Thomas School field and lifted a fence panel and attempted to steal motorbike, must have been disturbed and only got away with a small part of exhaust cover (? !). Nice people hopefully meet up with them one day for more than a chat.
