Early morning crash on the East Lancs (Thurs 10am) between Golborne roundabout and Haydock Island. HGV ploughed through central reservation so it was shut off there.
All Westbound A580 traffic had to be diverted either left through Newton, or right through Golborne. That's a lot of traffic trying to get back onto the East Lancs. And it's a looooooooong way round.

I thought it just couldn't be the lights but the cebtre of it all seemed to be Stubshaw. Never seen that much traffic around here.

Those traffic lights in Stubshaw actually helped everyone out, to be honest. The proper congestion was down Ashton Road where Golborne met Lowton. It was a relief to hit Stubshaw!
