Christmas Eve Nativity Posada with real pony 24th December 2011

Everybody is welcome to join us for this event.

We will meet at Hilton Street Car Park at 3.45pm on Christmas Eve Saturday 24th December 2011. We will have a real pony and people will be dressed in biblical clothing. 'Mary' will ride the pony and we will walk up Gerard Street singing Christmas carols. Some children will be dressed as shepherds or angels and will carry lanterns as it gets dusky.

We will arrive at St Thomas Church and will have a celebration party for Jesus's birthday. The children will be entertained with a Christian puppet show.

This will be sixth year that we have had this event. Our first Posada was in December 2006. It is well attended by the Ashton community and is representative of the journey undertaken by Mary and Joseph from Nazareth to Bethlehem as written in Luke's Gospel.
