Hi
The article refers to a Marcia Williams, I thought her name was Marcia Faukender, if I remember Private Eye had many articles about her.

Re: Re: Harold Wilson/Ashton in Makerfield Scandal

Marcia Williams became Lady Falkender in 1974. Incidentally she successfully sued BBC for 75,000 pounds in April this year over allegations that she was Harold Wilsons lover.Story here http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/04/04/nbbc104.xml

hi
Nothing much changes then, the BBC wasn't very good then at telling the truth.

Re: Harold Wilson/Ashton in Makerfield Scandal

Hi Julian -

I think that I have to point out that the article which RoyH kindly referred to does not claim that Harold Wilson or his then secretary profited from the sale of the land. If your source has evidence that they did then they could have to produce it in a libel case!
