Re: Oh Deer Me

Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust countryside services manager Graham Workman says that the deer are breeding in Haigh Plantations, Borsdane Wood and Three Sisters.

He goes on to say:
"I think it is marvellous that they are re-appearing across Wigan and just goes to show what success we are having in creating a successful habitat for wildlife."(Wigan Observer Apr 24).

Mr Workman's words really highlight how much we have to lose if the development goes ahead.

If we have created a successful habitat for wildlife then for Gods sake lets look after it.

The councils lips are repeatedly dripping with the words: 'Economic Regeneration'. So lets 'regenerate' and use industrial areas that already lie dormant (approximately 200 industrial units lie empty in the Wigan Borough)instead of losing 40 acres more of our precious green and open land to concrete and pollution.
