Stubshaw Cross Old Reservoir

Cabinet members of the council met today to decide if land needed for the building of the extension to the South Lancs industrial estate should be sold or not.

One piece of land is the wooded area at Stubshaw Cross on the old reservoir site near to the Labour Club. (4 acres).

It is a big decision, one that could effect everyone in Ashton.

Makerfield Against Development put forward the idea to Stubshaw Cross Residents Group to take on the land to create a nature area, which the residents group have taken on board and are awaiting a decision.

Following the meeting by the cabinet today the sale of the land was defered for a 2 month period. We are currently investigating the reason for the 2 month delay, and will keep you informed.
