I think there are some at Landgate, behind the houses just past Sougher's Lane.

I don't know. It was a resident from one of the houses on Wigan Road just past Soughers Lane that told me one was vacant three or four years ago. You could try asking at one of the houses backing on to the allotments.

Another option is to try the Newton-le-Willows Gardeners' Association (http://www.nlwgardeners.homestead.com/).
