The Da Vinci Code

The Da Vinci code is a work of fiction based on scarce facts. For anyone interested in books like this I suggest some further reading.

The book I refer to is Wigan MBC's Unitary Development Plan.

Let me quote from it :
"EV1B Pollution
The Council will reduce pollution and the effects of pollution by:-
(a) Not permitting development which would result in unacceptable levels of air pollution or which would have an unacceptable effect on air quality, particularly in or adjacent to the Air Quality Management Areas declared by the Council under the Environment Act 1995. Sensitive development will not be allowed in areas of unacceptably poor air quality; "

The proposed roundabout between the Nursery and the Golden Ball pub on Wigan Rd is actually IN an Air Quality Management Area!

The UDP is a blinding read if you are into contradiction and hypochrasy!
