I left Ashton in 1964 returning for acouple of brief visits the last in 1983, so it was with great pleasure to view the pictures on display. The photo of Church Terrace in particular as my uncle Brian Walker lives there.
I talk to him most weeks and he has sent me some terrific dvds of Ashton and its history.
Reading through your message book I noticed enquiries about The Angel. I was born at 14 Warrington Rd in 1955 but unfortunately I can't recall the publican then as I was very young at the time.
Thank you for an informative snapshot of current life in Ashton, it seems that local issues are similar everywhere.
