Traffic Census

Following the news from the Bryn Councillor Gary Wilkes that there are 3 new possible roads in Bryn & Landgate area 2 serve the proposed 3 sisters business park extention, Today 2 traffic census machines were being placed 1 next to the speed camera at landgate and the other just between the railway bridge and entrance to lockett road on bryn road. Coincidence I dont think so.

Come on Bryn lets fight this

Re: Traffic Census

Julian this new survey seems to be following the same pattern as the previous surveys. The first survey was carried out by the developers who took a photo from a helicopter, counted the traffic on the roads at that time, fed the numbers into a computer and came out with a prediction of four percent; very clever considering that photo was taken on a Sunday. The second survey was carried out by Wigan Council who did their survey during the summer holidays when the schools were closed and many people were away on holiday, result; an eight percent increase. Now we have a further survey taking place when schools are just about to start half term holidays and many people will be taking their kids abroad for a holiday break. What’s the betting this survey will show that there has been a decrease and the figure is revised down to six percent?
