Who are we voting for?

Hello,

I am a little confused .
I received a flyer today through the post labelled " Community News". The publisher was Claire Daington . On it states that "Cllr Claire Daington has been reported as expelled by CAP." So... which party is she representing in the up-coming elections? There is no sign of any allegiance to any party stated on the newsletter.

Also in the paper it states that: " Anti-social behaviour is DOWN in Ashton when diversionary activities are taking place".

Claire is obviously privvy to statistics that are taken during the " monthly Rave at Captains Lane".

However ,I have some good news for the Cllr , it seems that football crowd attendances are UP , when theres a match on.

I reckon shops sell way more WHEN they are open.

Crime is at an all time LOW when the criminals are asleep.

I wont go on.

Re: Who are we voting for?

I think the expelled CAP Councillors are standing as 'The People's Front Of Judea' in future.

Re: Re: Who are we voting for?

how can my vote be party political when I have not stated a preference for a political party? The fact that one of our Councillors has been expelled from her party is a relevant local issue, is it not? Hence the point about people not knowing who they will be voting for.

Well does it or not?

Hi Alan -

Does it or does it not what? Welcome friendly debate? It does, but people have to want to debate something.

As moderator I prefer to limit my input to factual matters if I can. Perhaps the text you quote does inhibit political discussion, but in view of past experience on the board, including it being taken down when local politicians threatened me with legal action, it is there to set some ground rules to keep the board available in a positive way.
