Wigan Athletic Football in the Community are currently running football coaching sessions in Jubilee Parks every Thursday evening from 6.00pm to 8.00pm.

There is no charge, and no booking is required, but a parental consent form must be completed for under-16's. This can be done on the night.

The initiative is sponsored by the Township Community Safety Group, under the chairmanship of Cllr Claire Daington, and is supported by other ward councillors and volunteers from Ashton Central Community Forum.

The current sessions will run up to and including the 29th September (when the Linc Newspaper are planning to attend and interview participants). The Ashton and Bryn ward councillors are currently involved in discussions as to how this initiative could be extended after the initial 8 week period.
