Re: Re: CONDOLENCES TO THOSE AFFECTED BY THE LONDON BOMBING

I agree Andy.

Of course there are connections between the UK/USA's war on Iraq/Afghanistan and terrorist attacks in the west. I agree that those wars were wrong. But to make a political point out of offering your condolences is pretty low Peter.

Could you not have left it at simply expressing your regret at the loss of life?

It's not that I want to stifle debate about the above issues, it's just that I feel a period of humility, rememberance and reflection is order first. After all, we don't remember the dead of World War Two by having a go at the Germans, do we?

Re: CONDOLENCES TO THOSE AFFECTED BY THE LONDON BOMBING

I have expressed my condolences in the way I consider it appropriate to do so and note that I was the one to take the initiative on this forum.
I don't presume to tell you how you should express your condolences as that is a matter for your personal choice.

Re: Re: CONDOLENCES TO THOSE AFFECTED BY THE LONDON BOMBING

Suppose you're right Peter. If making political capital out of condolences is what you want, then who am I to tell you not to?

I just thought it was a bit tasteless, that's all.

Re: Re: Re: CONDOLENCES TO THOSE AFFECTED BY THE LONDON BOMBING

Hi Matt and Andy

In spite of your self righteous indignation I note that neither of you have offered any condolences.

Why do I get the impression that you are the one's trying to turn this into a political arguement?

Re: Re: Re: Re: CONDOLENCES TO THOSE AFFECTED BY THE LONDON BOMBING

To borrow a phrase from you Peter: "I have expressed my condolences in the way I consider it appropriate to do so."

Now please leave it alone.

Re: CONDOLENCES TO THOSE AFFECTED BY THE LONDON BOMBING

I would also like to offer my conolences, and call upon all who do so to leave any further comments until after a suitable period of mourning.

Well said.
