I believe the supermarket idea has been shelved and they are going to build a big traffic island there instead, with big metal plates showing images of rugby, football, northern soul, George Formby etc. etc. etc. in order to let people travelling through see how cultured we all are. HA ! HA ! HA ! Old Lord Gerard will be turning in his grave.

The sculpture you're referring to is intended for the island at Landgate, where the M6 slip road joins the A49. At present I'm not aware of any plans for the land between Townfields and Bryn Street since Liberty Symons pulled out.
