I am absolutely disgusted by the proposals to close the
Stubshaw Cross Post Office. I live in the centre of
Ashton, but make a point of always using the Stubshaw PO.
It is easy to access and I have always found the
service so much more friendly and professional, in fact
so much superior to Ashton PO. I will most certainly
write to protest against any closure.

I'm disappointed at the closure too - I'm sure the Stubshaw post office is an important focus for the local community. However, I understand the basic problem is that there isn't enough business to make all our local post offices viable. I'm pleased to see that the Bamfurlong post office is due to re-open - it could be that saving the Stubshaw one might lead to the closure of this one, which would be worse for their community. Anyway, it's good to see that you are taking the trouble to support the Stubshaw office - I agree about the helpfulness of the Stubshaw Cross postmaster.

I for one think staff at both post offices are a waste of space.

They dont smile and they make me feel unwelcome.

What a sad state our post offices afre in today.

Close them both down. Immediately
