No, of course it shouldn't be shaved. Have you encountered people who do that? Please tell them that the dog can become severly sunburned and they can cause more serious problems such as heat stroke, etc. IT is indeed their Heating and Cooling system. I have 9 Siberian Huskies so I know and I can understand that when they shed you have a lot of hair to vacume and clean up but if I can do it then people with 1 or 2 should be able to. All of mine are indoors because I have an Albino and a pure white female who will sunburn due to color. Bless your heart for being a member of the "Sibe Mom Club".
