I have downloaded a previous copy of your great program. I worked with it for some time. however some how, I lost three dlls and since, DXTBmp will not work. I downloaded the mwgfx dlls but they will not install. Each time I try, I get errors installing it. The error states that there is an applicaiton that is running dll, that I should stop it and then re run it. however, even on reboot and nothing running (other than windows xp) still gives me the error. Some how, I was able to find mwdds, mwdlg, mwgfvb, mwgfx24 amd ,mwgfxcopy under the system 32 folder. I am missing mwace, mwacevb and mwddsvb. What am I doing wrong. can I just get those files by themselves??? Or perhaps save them on a different location and then copy them into the correct folder?
You will get this message if the dll installer is unable to copy the dlls to SYSTEM for any reason. The most likely reason is that a program using the dlls is currently running and so locking the dlls and preventing overwriting but it could be other problems such as folder security settings or read-only files
The installer is a self-extracting zip executabe so if you have winzip or winrar (or 7zip or any other archiving tool) you should be able to right-click on the installer file and extract the files so you can then copy them manually to your SYSTEM folder. At least when copying manually Windows should give a bit more information if it flags an error
