Reflection on buildings

...Hi Martin ( genius ) and all , I`ve always designed sceneries, I`m wondering if reflection in FS is exclusive to aircrafts ,
I`d like to know if making reflection to buildings
is necessary, if so , how do I do that, I`ve made transparencies for dxt3 with alpha channels succesuflly, is the process similar?

thanks in advance

Re: Reflection on buildings

The general concensus from many people who have experimented with it is that reflections don`t work in scenery.

In theory an aircraft MDL is just BGL (scenery) code with some added bits. However aircraft are displayed and animated differently to scenery so it is more than possible that this extra feature is only available with aircraft.

You could try experimenting with the MDLMat program from my beta page. This lets you mess around with the materials used by scenery or aircraft and it might be possible to find some values hat do have an effect

Re: Re: Reflection on buildings

Thanks a lot Martin!!!

I`ve always thought that the change of light in FS (day/dawn/dusk) effect was enough for sceneries, I got confused with the use of DXT bmps
Thanks fot the tip and the link I apreciate it!
