Wizard Super 10 for Parts

Well it is official, I'm hooked on these Wizard motors. I just purchased my 3rd in less than 2 weeks. I now have a Super 10 that is missing a prop, would it be a good idea to keep purchasing these? I am retiring in 6 years and it may be a good past time for me. How popular is the demand for parts?

Re: Wizard Super 10 for Parts

Gary- If it makes you happy, keeping purchasing. I don't have any particular brand loyalty, so my workshop is filled with a variety of brands, each providing me a new experience and challenge. Part availability varies from brand to brand, model to model. I would suggest joining AOMCI (www.aomci.org). It is a great way to network, learn about outboards, and track down parts and motors. Plus, a darn good way to make new friends.

Re: Wizard Super 10 for Parts

Unless price is less than value of scrap metal involved use some restraint. Missing parts motors,
stuck motors and junk motors have provided me with
challenges and rewards.BUT, not everyone sees things
the way I do. I have paid too much for motors that
turned out to have $erious needs and I have picked
up stuck motors for very little that proved to be
interesting and worthwhile projects. If you enjoy
doing what you do don't worry about those who
ask what are you going to do with them when
they are finished. The Executor of your estate
will probably consign them to a scrap metal dealer
...who probably collects old outboards and boats.
