Super 10 Wizard WJ-7

Will a 1954 WG-4 timing plate,coil and condensor work on a 1954 Super 10 WJ-7

Re: Super 10 Wizard WJ-7

WG4 uses F189 magneto
WJ7 uses F514E magneto
Components may/may not interchange
Magneto plate probably will not...they may be
different sizes and cam under magneto plate
that picks up carburetor lever almost certainly
not same. Flywheels likely for different shaft
sizes too.
I am pulling parts together to complete a KE7 and
ran into this situation with Bendix magneto...
parts will interchange but magneto plate/cam
different than KE4 magneto plate.

Re: Super 10 Wizard WJ-7

Luis, All I need is the 2 coils and 2 condensors and I have found them at a real good price but they are out of a WG4. It all looks the same but I can not tell if they are big enough. 35.00 for all 4 components is that a good deal or do you know a better deal.

Re: Super 10 Wizard WJ-7

I89 series magneto use round 307 coils
514 series magneto use squarish 608 coils.
I would keep looking.
It is possible to make coils fit sometimes even
though armature may need fitting and hole in coil
enlarged as a LAST RESORT only.
Outboard makers as a rule purchased magneto system
from a vendor such as Repco/Phelon. Several different
brands might use the same series magneto with minor
variations to suit the installation....Sooo...your
possible sources of used coils for your WJ7 may
be a little wider than you think.
NEW COILS are available from Mr. Judkins and are
said to be best price and excellent quality.
He also has condensors and points...I do not know if his offerings include the components for your WJ7
I think if you search webvertizer by his name or
coils you will find his phone number.
It goes against the grain to pay 21st Century
prices but sometimes that is the only way to go.
Just about every outboard that has come my way has
a bad impeller and bad or missing coils so I feel
your pain. Looked up an impeller that is now NLA
on Sierra site and last (crossed out) price was $3.00
more recently at another source about $35.00 and now NLA there. Such is life.
