I recently was given an older outboard, but haveno info.

It is a Western Auto Model WD3S Serial #42434.

I'm not even sure if it it a 2-cycle.

Yep, you have one the the earlier Wizards made by Kiekhaefer Mercury. The WD-3S is a single cylinder, direct drive 2-cycle (16:1) based on Mercury's 3.2HP KD-3S. The "S" designation was for the deluxe recoil starter. The WD-3 just had the standard rope sheave on the flywheel.
