I just picked up a nice WD3S from a coworkers dad and it's all complete however the picture on the front of the owners manual indicates that it's supposed to have partial engine side covers. The picture also shows the two "wing" decals on each side. Can anyone confirm that this motor is actually supposed to be equpped with side covers? I found a photo of a restored WD3 at the Acme site http://www.acmeoutboards.com/ however it doesn't have the engine covers or the cast aluminum "bullet" shaped spark plug cover.

Hi Gary,

There is supposed to be cover over the carburetor and have bullet caps over the sparkplugs. I don't recall any covers on the side of the motor though.
