Sorry to not have answered, I have not been able to get on and post for awhile... you are no bother
I do not use fly masks but I can ask around to see if anyone would know... I have not heard of any trouble with the fit before. I do know that my Sulphurs have different size and shapes of heads so I would think you will have to just get as close as possible, if the flies aren't too bad then maybe wait til your horse gets a bit bigger but if you are really having trouble with flies then you could get the one that is just a bit too big and use a fly spray or roll on for the face... that is what I use so I don't have to buy 25 different fly masks... I have 25 horses so it is cheaper to use spray...
Sorry for the delay to answer but I get really swamped with my 3 jobs and have a hard time getting on here regularly... Please keep asking questions cause I will for sure answer if no one else has before I can get on here...
I hope this helps and if I can find anything else out I will post it on here for you...
I do have a lot of flies, and they have been worse this year. Can you tell me what sprays/roll on you use? I have a light roan SMR mare and she is sensitive to some sprays....she will blister....don't know what in certain sprays can cause it. I tried to go the more natural spray route, but the flies just lick it off and keep coming. I found a Cashel mask to fit her, but the 2 yo is too large for a yearling and too small for a cob. If I don't put something on him, his eyes water so bad from the flies. When I come home from work, he will just rub his face on my chest over and over again to make it feel better. Perhaps some sort of roll on will help....what would you advise that won't cause any problems if he was to rub his face so I won't worry if he gets it in his eyes.

Re: Fly Masks
I got arab/cob size in the Duravet brand forboth the 13.2 Sulphur & 14.2 Wilbur-Cruce. On the Sulphur, it fits fine over the eyes but is a bit loose around the nose. On the Wilbur-Cruce, it was touching his eyelashes when I had it on snug, so I loosened it & it's better now. So the end results is that both fit Ok over the eyes, but loose around the front. Nonetheless, the flies seem to be landing on the outside rather than crawling underneath. If they start to go underneath, I might treat the noseband part (fabric) with a product containing permethrin to keep the flies away.
