Re: Salmon flies for bass?!

Heretic? Why? I think that's great news for Bass anglers and just goes to show that it's the combination of color, profile and size, that makes the difference, not the name of the fly or what it was developed for. I'll bet there are a lot of bass flires that can also be used for Salmon.

I hope that the steelhead & salmon anglers that visit this site don't brand me a heretic, but here in western PA, I have gotten some great results using the Salmon Treat, Carlson Coho, Kenai Connection, etc. in sligtly modified, lighter dressings for largemouth bass in our lakes. The color combos are perfect for bass and panfish. I try to use them only on stormy cloudy days in deference to the Pacific NW and Alaska where they originated. I've used Salmon and steelhead flies for bass for many years and always enjoy uncovering new patterns. Thanks to everyone for some interesting ties.
