I'm new to the board and new to Spey Casting. I live near the Skykomish and Stillaguamish river systems and have just recently dove into the world of Spey. I am wondering if there are any patterns I should focus on learning/fishing that are particularly suited for Steelhead and/or Salmon in my area. I tie some simple stuff (leaches, spiders, marabou)for my single handers, but want to start to tie some other patterns that are not too complex, and that will help me develop my skills. Anything you guys would care to share would be greatly appreciated! By the way, I bought a 12' T&T 8wt., and will be fishing this rod with whatever Spey flies I tie.
