Re: Re: Puget Sound Salt Water Flys

If you're looking for a good starter book, try Dick Talleur's Fly Tyer's Primer. It's the one I used to start.

Will, I just purchased a magazine from the rack at Fred Meyer Grocery called Fly Tyer. The Spring 2001 issue has the correct recipe for the clouser minnow on page 18. I'm going to tie some myself. Good luck.

I have spent a small fortune over the past 2 years buying flys where I could. Having just started to tie my own (w/o any classes) I would appreciate if someone would send me instructions on tying pink/white & chartruese/white clausers on #2-#4 hooks. I the ones I have tried so far look only fair. Too much flair and I am really in the dark as to how many wraps are usually necessary to secure material including dumbell eyes. These clauser flys are just cutts and coho killers....thanks
