YOU ARE SO WRONG ABOUT HOLIDAY BEACH DEVELOPMENT

For those in the know,Holiday Beach Subdivision was started in 1964 by Palm Developers LTD. out of Nassau and Scott Hamilton Realty of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. It was a fully approved subdivison and lots were around $2,000 and $3,000 dollars. And it is also "incorporated" into the township of Gregory Town and falls under the town planning council of Gregory Town. It has nothing to do with, or has ever, with Eleuthera Island Shores (EIS) which was started by Gordon Price in 1963 and later taken over by Richard bellware in the 1970's, when Price went on to develop "Rainbow Bay". Holiday Beach was just a forgotten subdivision that suffered from being very hard to access and that it's road along the ocean was used for drug trafficing in the 70's and 80's. So Etu Brutus where in the heck do you get your information. You need another source!

Re: Re: Which airport is closest?

How can one be "in the dark" in todays times.. with the Internet and books on Eleuthera...It means doing ones homework..You can find out everything..

Re: Which airport is closest?

The good Cap'n has a long-running joke with that book, so don't get too excited about it.

I agree with him to some degree -- it's not a half-bad guidebook for somebody's first visit to the island. But it leans heavily toward beaches in the north and gets progressively less reliable and comprehensive the farther south you go. There are spectacular beaches south of the Point and far beyond that they don't even come close to.

Wanna have some fun exploring? Spend a couple of hours on Google Earth before you go. Save yourself $26 ...

Re: Re: Which airport is closest?

One post said by Pams island shop another said sufers manor... they are far apart???

Re: Re: Re: Which airport is closest?

So you go to Cushs and take a left or right and go down to the water????

Re: Which airport is closest?

There is a subdivision near EIS and also a beach next to the town part plot in GT (just go up and over the bad road)

Re: Re: Which airport is closest?

There is no sudivision next EIS except commonage land when you turn at Cush's VIP. EIS stops at Commonage Rd. to the north and just before the silos to the south and no other subdivision there either, just crown land.

Replying to:

I did say "....very first visit.....". Back then information was not as easily obtainable as it can be now.

Now can we try to keep 'on topic' and avoid negative sleights at posters trying to make sensible points to help people asking reasonable questions?

Re: Which airport is closest?
