I really like the visual of thinking of your potential money available as a big lake at the bottom of a mountain. Most people have one stream running down the mountain -- their current job. But to be financially successful, having multiple streams running down the mountain is important. Investments, savings, residual product sales, real estate, etc. The more streams running down the mountain, the deeper the lake.

I like that visual; but, I'm still working to prevent the evaporation that inevitably follows in the water cycle.
