luxating patella

Hi, Am I crazy? I've fallen in love with a one year old pom for sale by a breeder that does not want to breed her due to a slight luxating patella. Is this going to become a problem? Has anyone gone thru this? Should I stay clear of this pom? She is showing no signs of problems yet but what does the future hold? I'm leaning toward getting her...she still needs a home regardless of this problem right? Please help me decide.

Re: luxating patella

What grade is the patella? Most reputable breeders breed as close to standard as possible. Trying their best to minimize certain breed problems. Patella problems are a problem for poms. This will be a problem if you were trying to purchase a dog suitable for breeding later. Are you planning to show?
I see it's been a while since your post, did you decide to purchase that pup? Good luck with your lil fur baby if you did. They all need lover.
