As old age and stiffer joints creep on, I have decided to exchange my simple camping gear for the luxury of a tent.

I used the SMD gear on the last two TGOs and could not fault it - light to carry and quick to pitch. Copes well with gales, torrential rain, and even sunshine. One walking pole and six pegs are needed. Full details are on the SMD website.

I bought the Banana Bivy on a whim and have never used it in anger. It is basically a waterproof bathtub floor, big enough to take an inflatable mat and a winter bag, with a zipped water resistant cover over most of the top. An internet search will throw up some information. I did intend to add a bug net at the head end, but never got round to it.

If I remember correctly the weights are:
Deschutes 370g
Serenity 330g
Banana 256g

All in excellent condition. £200 posted.
