Just to let you know that there is a National Orienteering event taking place in Ballater over the weekend of 19/20th May. B&B's, guest houses and hotels are nearly all booked. Our friends also tell us that a lot of them will be using the camp site. Not sure if you can pre book the camp site.

Colin Ibbotson and I turned up at the campsite two years ago when the orienteering was on and were given pitches without having booked. They're usually very accommodating to Challengers, many more arrived after us and were also given pitches.
Be ready for a VERY noisy night, lots of children, and lots of really badly pitched tents! 😂
