River Enrick or Allt Glac na Doimhne

Hello,
I am a first time challenger also looking forward to coming home to Scotland from the USA for the first time in over 25 years!

I am currently playing with a route through or south of Tomich and heading NE to join the Affric Kintail Way into Drum, and camp somewhere in the neighborhood of Corrimony Falls or Lochan Marbh depending on which route I take. Any decent spots in those areas or close by along the way? From the River Enrick ford east of Tomich, I was thinking of either going along the track north to Corrimony or heading E/NE and walking north along the Allt Glac na Doimhne to find a camp spot. Trying to leave a short walk along the AK Way to Drum the next day for a night off and a good meal.

Thoughts, comments, and advice appreciated.

Thanks
Phil M

Hi Phil and welcome!

For camping in the area of Corrimony, you might find this recent thread helpful.

Re: River Enrick or Allt Glac na Doimhne

Just a warning about pitching along the River Enrick. When I passed that way last year, much of the pasture was very unpleasant indeed, chewed up and pitted due to earlier use by cattle. They may not be there in May but if there's been any cattle grazing in the spring, the ground takes an age to recover.

That confirms what I was wondering while perusing the aerials and other info - wasn't sure if that would be a good area. I am also looking at an area near the woods along the Allt Glac na Doimhne...may have to reroute a bit if that area is bad too. Happy Hogmanay!

Thanks! Well, I guess the first thing I should do is learn to search the Message Board better!
