I strongly suggest you take proper OS paper maps with you rather than prints from your computer where it's often difficult to see contours properly. In no circumstances rely just on electronic gadgetry!

Simon, thanks but I've never had a problem with printing my own maps, in fact I use them all the time. I don't think printing my own map quite rises to the level of electronic gadgetry...:smiley:

I’ve only carried print outs on my Challenges, but it might be worth printing some overview maps as well just in case you need to take a deotour.
