Hi Dara, Only Openstreet maps are available in the Garmin Inreach Explorer+ if in Europe. There is no capability for a micro SD card to add different map sets.

I’ve been looking at the Garmin InReach, Dara as I like the two way messaging. The TOPO mapping on it looks okay but not very detailed. I’ve plotted my route on ViewRanger and have it on my phone (in addition to paper maps of course) I’ve used a SPOT Connect for a few years but have found it fiddly. I see that SPOT 3s are greatly reduced (50%) on the SPOT website so wondering if a SPOT 4 is on the way (pure speculation on my part!) I’m keeping my options open at the moment until the New Year but will be interested to hear how you go on with the Garmin if you are going to be using one.
