Re: Crossing the Dee

I'm heading N after dropping off Beinn Bhrotain via Allt Garbh, eventually to Derry Lodge.

Having done the descent from Loch nan Stuirteag to the Geusachan Burn on my first challenge, I well remember the character-forming nature of the terrain!

If the Dee isn't fordable, I'll just head up the Geusachan Burn until I can cross it and head for Corrour.

Thanks

Where are you heading for? if you are dropping down from Loch nan Stuirteag to Glen Geusachan there is a faint path on the north side of The Geusachan Burn. You will have to ford this at around NN964941 to pick up the path and track to White Bridge.
There is actually quite a good path on the south side of Glen Geusachan and we have crossed the burn and the Dee around their junction, once with almost dry boots and once when the water was over knee level but as has already been said it can only be judged by an individual on the day; the difficulty will be in the eye of the beholder.
