Walking Day Sunday 12th June 2011 2.00pm

This year the Walking Day for Ashton-in-Makerfield is Sunday 12th June 2011 2.00pm

We will meet at Ashton Market between 1.30 and 1.45.

Spectators and walkers are all welcome.

Walking Day is a Walk of Witness for Christianity.

Presume this is 'Jelly Sunday' as we used to call it. Remember taking part in these processions over 60 years ago at Holy Trinity, Downall Green, and St Peters, Bryn, there used to be hundreds taking part, both would end with a Service on the Village Green.

Walking Day cancelled for this year due to appalling weather conditions.

We did have a lovely service at St Thomas's though.
